Open Science
Open science is a movement that aims to provide more open and collaborative research practices where data, publications, software and other types of academic output are shared in ways that are transparent, inclusive and made available for reuse. Below you can find the ways in which the doctoral candidates at PRAETORIAN will practice open science.
Open Access Scientific Journals
-
All ten doctoral candidates (DCs) in the PRAETORIAN network will publish in international, peer-reviewed and open-access journals. Publishment in a high-impact journal (e.g., Nature, Science etc.) will be accompanied with press releases.
-
Joint publications and co-authorships (between universities/research institutes/industry partners) are encouraged.
Articles in Non-specialized Press
-
Significant results will be published in magazines and websites from international associations for sepsis/intensive care research.
-
Lay summaries will be written for patients' organizations, including the FCIC/IC Connect- or the Rory Staunton Foundation websites.
National and International Conferences
-
The DCs will attend annual "International Symposium on Intensive Care and Emergency Medicine" (ISICEM) meetings, where they will present their research.
-
The DCs will also attend other conferences and contribute to societies in the field of sepsis: E.g., The World Sepsis Congress, Netherlands Society for Intensive Care, German Sepsis Society, etc.
